On my Navigator the back up beeps would get solid if you got too close to anything. It was helpful backing up to the trailer because when they went solid, that's how I knew I was close enough. Of course, that didn't stop me from hitting it; that bumper cover did get some abuse. It was annoying when trying to back up my trailer, though, every time I put it in reverse it'd beep like crazy, as if it thought I forgot I was towing a trailer. Eventually it broke, and I didn't miss it. Never bothered fixing it.

OK, I just have to practice backing up with someone there to tell me when I hit them, and see if I have a constant beep.

The mods I would make are tinted windows and stiffer spings/shocks. Maybe bigger wheels to fill out the whell well better and lower it 1 inch. Maybe dyno tune it. But it is a very smooth quiet driver the way it is. It is not intended to be a performance car.
