Upgrades to my 94 Black Mark VIII

I pulled the bumper cover off to fix a bad washer pump, get the bumper painted, and make it easier to install the HID lenses and ballasts.

The washer pump was easy, the hose was just disconnected.

The bumper came off no problems, except one Phillips head screw that needed to be converted to a slotted screw for removal.

Here's some photos.

The first one is a before shot, the bumper is the worse part of the car, the headlights are kind of ugly too.

Then a shot of the car disassembled, the bumper on the porch, then in my CE. The bumper cover fits nice in the CE, I just removed the passenger and back seats. :D

I need to drop it off for paint. :)

Ha! you're turning your car inside-out.. :)

It is worth noting that it is possible to put both bumper covers inside a 1986 Town Car as well, but I don't think I have a photo to prove it...

I put the HID headlight housings in this weekend. I almost forgot that you have to trim the header panel to fit the different high beam halogen mounts. It was easy enough with a Dremel cut off wheel though.

I mounted the ballasts behind the steel bumper where it angles back by the fender.

Then I soldered the 2 red wires together at the multi function switch to keep the HID's from hot striking and burning out, when I turn the high beams off.

The bumper is back from paint. The painter did an excellent job.

Thanks again go to Jeremi, he recommended the painter and delivered the bumper.:cool-blue:

He also came up with the idea of unbolting the passenger seat and moving it forward and reclining it, so the bumper fit in the car without removing seats.

Here are the photos from today:
