Wanna Drag?

We were talking about a spring Michigan meet last year.

I'm posting this early for planning this time.:)

How about May?

I was thinking maybe a Lincolns of Distinction group drive to Milan Dragway from my area, about a 1.5 hour drive. Then we could go back to my house after.

You can see the printable schedule here, their website looks like it's taking a winter break though.:)

Sounds good JP!

Well, that's one response, anyone else?

You don't have to have a modded car, and you don't have to run your car if you don't want to.

I personally want to race any other Mark VIII stock or modified, just for the fun of it, with my stock green Mark AND my 97 with the 373's.:D

I also think it would be great to overwhelm Milan with Lincolns.

I can hear a spectator now "Where did all these Lincolns come from?".:D

I'd like to go, maybe not to race but definitely to add to the Lincolns present and especially to watch and enjoy.

tentatively, yes!

Although I may need some coaching/arm twisting on the racing bit. I've never done that before.

There's nothing to it, when the light turns green, you go.:D

I've only taken 2 cars to the strip so far. My red Mark and my CE.:)
Both were bone stock. The red one did 15.2, the CE 15.6, lots of fun!

I've been there once in mid-June 2005, a buddy of mine had a 1980 Porsche 928 with a Corvette LT-1 crate engine bored out. That car screamed. We went to Milan and they either rented him a helmet or lent it to him, can't remember. He also said that he doesn't wait for the green light, he floored it on the 2nd yellow, left foot on brake and right foot of course on the gas.

As long as you're not thinking "that light is green, I better go..."

You'll be fine... :D

You only need a helmet if you are riding a bicycle.:D

Actually, I've never even worn a helmet on my bicycle or my unicycle.:)

Eh. I've been wearing a helmet on the bicycle since well before it was popular to do so. On the bright side, it has likely saved my brains from being scrambled on two different occasions.

I was once flipped a bicycle end over end the hard way...

I know the shocking part of that story is that I was 'riding a bicycle'... :D

I would love to join y'all. Just don't know if I will physically be able to make the trip. That would be what about 4 or more hours from Lafayette, IN? Don't think I would be dragging but it would be fun to just be there and have a nice turn out of LOD and meet everyone. Anywho we'll see. Maybe it can be worked out. Don't want to commit to it yet though.
