water pump replacement question? need help!

ok i'm replacing it and have a question. i have the two gaskets and sealant. where so i put the sealant? just in between the two gaskets? or do i also put in sealant on the water pump to gasket and gasket to engine block? or all of the above? or do i even need sealant? thanks car is a 78 lincoln mark v

Yeah I'd use rtv blue. I'm not really picturing it but I think there is a plate between the pump and the timing cover and that's why there are two gaskets. Glue the gasket to the water pump before you put it on. I'd would put a light coat of rtv on everything
