Thanks, Steve. :) That brings to mind one of those religious things I never really understood.. "we can't eat meat on friday, so we're having fish."

Of course, I had a co-worker a while back who had the opposite outlook on life. His line was "I only eat food that had parents."

And Sharon, the artichoke dip sounds fantastic. That and alcohol, and I'll be all set. If you wish, I'll bring the ingredients for my now famous "Cornbread Soufflé"

That is more politics then religion. The fisherman lobbied for that day and then gave more in donations.

Reminds me of this joke:

What kind of meat do priest eat on Fridays?

Jeremi and I were talking about maybe taking the train to get there. But since the train would just take us to downtown Chicago, I think it would be more trouble than it was worth. I would probably just drive.

I never got an answer to if I could stay in the basement on my air mattress. I'd be willing to share it with any single women if needed.:D

D'oh about the crab, I knew that too.

Bill, of course you can sleep here! Inside even. ;)

The train that comes into Union Station would be a real pain to get to, however, depending on timing, etc., I do have a couple friends coming in from the city (north side) so there's the possibility of taking the el to them, or taking another train which comes out closer to my house from Union Station. There's one that stops in Wheeling and another that stops in Arlington Heights. And I'm sure my son could probably pick people up. I'm not sure how much Hubby's gonna have to do to help me, but the Kid's g/f and a friend of mine promised to help me prep and cook and all that (she also said she's bringing her sangria which kicked my butt last night).

So, everyone is welcome and welcome to stay here (probably bring a pillow though), welcome to use my kitchen, etc. If you want to come out and not stay at my house, but get a hotel, let me know and I can tell you the hotels close to my house. I'm not sure what we'll be having for dinner or if it'll just be finger foods/appetizer stuff.

Boo.. I checked Amtrak, and it's about $280, and 8 hours each way. Southwest, will do it for as low as $81 Sharon, Is one airport closer to you than the other?

Now I have to do the math for driving, at 16mpg. :)

well, I was thinking O'Hare -vs- Midway..

Now you might have me on a mission to get into the executive one.. :)

Midway = far. However, there is a shuttle I think which takes you from Midway to O'Hare. If the executive airport is at Palwaukee, it's right down the street from me and I bet I could even pick someone up there. But, PM Mike and see what he can do in terms of doing picking up/dropping off at airports. Especially if multiple people will be flying in together.

And SW does not fly into O'Hare.

Midway is about a 45 minute drive. Longer in traffic. We can figure something out. I used to drive their from our house every week for work. O'hare is obviously much closer.
