For sale is a Lincoln Mark VIII. It has severe clear coat damage that was a factory defect. Nothing a Maaco paint job wouldn't cure. The car also has a slight power steering leak. It goes through a small bottle every two weeks. The interior middle compartment will not stay closed because the latch has been broken but that also can be fixed. Also the interior compartment has an after market foldout top of the line cd player (as of 3 years ago) with focal utopia 165 polyglass speakers that if you'll look up you'll see are top of the line speakers. The front suspension which has been a notorious drawback on these cars has been completely replaced. The tires are brand new, the battery, alternator and air pump are new also. The headers have been replaced with aftermarket headers and the pipes are aftermarker also so the car exhales very well. This car will run the quarter mile in under 15 seconds stock. With the headers it would shave a bit off that time. Also, although it's not hooked up it has a 500watt fosgate amp in the trunk that will come with the car which is a 200$ value.
As for the defects. While the 1-2 accumulator in the transmission has been replaced it still has a vibration every so often when shifting gears, but I think a good tranny flush with marcon V would fix this problem. The car will probobly go another 100,000 miles on this transmission and I don't think there's any real problem of the transmission going out. (it will still scratch second when romped on) Now for the biggest problem of all. The car started smoking when I had my last oil change done. It's not smoking very much but it's enouph for it to not pass emissions. I don't know why it started smoking but I think it's because I changed the place I did oil changes on the car and they used a different oil. The car still runs very well and besides the smoke which I think an oil change with some good oil would fix there's nothing else wrong with the car. So for the time being if your going to buy the car you'd better live outside the city where they don't check smog emissions.
