Hey Jeff - Way to go... and represent the Mark VIII's on the SSHS7 web site:big-grin: A picture of your Mark is shown doing a burn out! Go man go:big-grin:

I just booked a room for Friday and Saturday at the Comfort Inn in Commerce. Anyone planning to come to this event might want to make their reservations soon.

The Holiday Inn Express, where I stayed last year, is already booked solid for the entire weekend November 2-4. My Priority Club membership did not convince them to reserve me a room either... :( They sent me packin... out in the cold...

T - 1 month and counting... November 3rd is just around the corner :)

Time for a roll call... Who is going to attend SSHS7, and are you also going to attend the Friday night T&T?

Is your Mark ready for the Shootout? What needs to be done to your Mark? Do we need to set up a tech day here in the ATL?

I plan to be there. I need to double check what I did for reservations and see if I got a tech card! I plan on leaving Thursday so I can be there early Friday to make the meet at Sonics and attend the test and tune.

I know a couple Marauders and others planning to attend as well. I've already warned them about a couple blown Lincolns. LOL :big-grin:

I need to do basic maintenance; oil, filter, plugs, etc... but hopefully I'll be ready.

I scheduled to take Friday off from work, as the rush hour traffic leaving the Atl is very intense on Friday. I am going to make my way there after morning rush hour is done. lol, I put my tech card in a real safe place, where nobody will find it - including me :)

I am getting a ton of work done on the Mark in the next couple weeks, and Aric is getting married right in the middle of it all :) Congrats again, Aric!

Mike - GoldBird, and Big Scott - Dr. FrankenCougie, are planning to be there. In fact, GB might be using my drag radials and O-Stars, since I should have the new rims and tires on the Mark, and GB is on street tires now.

Aric and his team will be there I think Friday and Saturday, along with some of his customers cars joining in the shootout besides me.

The Bradshaw Brothers - my transmission builders, said they might also be there. Same for Scott Levine, but I am not sure if his Mark is done yet.

Todd Fisher - my good friend, and the man behind the Mark's custom exhaust will be there with Big Yeller too.

lol, All the guys that made the Mark what it is today will be there :)

This event is hands down going to be the best shootout ever.

Cool...

Cool...

haha i got that same pic on myspace too. lol Yep im trying like mad to get her done. It will be running and make it to the show, but if not tuned in time i will be parking lot only. Im puttin on a vacuum pump tonight also after i finish the springs. Still waiting on my fuel rails and aeromotive FPR setup from Summitt. If i get it monday, it will be running tues or wednesday. I'll button up everyting else and cut a big hole in the lower lip of the front valance. haha She wont be pretty till i make a nice spoiler out of fiberglass, but she will be functional.
Can't wait to see you crank 12s Mike. I just saw and read your entire post the other day when Marvin came to visit to return me my truck. i miss driving his LSC now. haha That got such great gas milage to work as opposed to my 9-12 MPG dually. That thing is a gas whore. It got new wires and plugs this weekend for the pull to Atlanta along with 4 sets of brakes, alignment, and rear diff service. Shes good to go. I'm leaving this monday to go to Texas to pick up my new trailer. I had them upgrade it and put LED lighting on it also. I'll run that one for about a year or two and then upgrade into the Pace Daytona dual car hauler. I got my MC#number already and stickers. Right now, the open flatbed is more versitle for my needs now so i can do cargo also. (don't need a DOT cause im staying undere 26,000 lbs CGVWR).
Crossing fingers for the Mark now. hehe I can taste the sonic slurpies and greasy cheese fries already. haha Cholesterol....the great American flavoring......ahhhh. :fart

That is great, Jeff! Glad to hear you are coming to the event - even if your Mark is not ready for some track time yet. Good luck with the rig, and new trailer too. It is going to be a blast. :)

I so would love to be there. With all the great cars and people showing up it's a hard to pass event.

How would it look if I showed up in a rental ? ;) It looks like the CE will be gone by then.

Now Jeremi, That would be way cool! :) Just need any 4k# rear drive car to race. Frankly, I have way more fun in the pits, and watching others race at this event, than waiting in the lanes for my turn.

Congratulations on the CE deal. Sad to see it go... And excited to see the next creation... :) Let me know if you decide to come down!

I think it's almost tradition to have a rental car in the event. :D

Check with Hertz and see if they have the Shelby GT-H available. ;)

lol, A old nasty station wagon, and a Durango won prior SSHS events for cryin out loud :)

I just installed the brand new HID assemblies I got from Jeremi, on the Mark this past weekend. What a difference. :) I did not think my old ones looked that bad until I put them next to each other. I like the fact that the new ones have a porcelain bulb socket instead of a plastic chrome bulb socket on my old ones :wave022:

I also adjusted the rear air ride sensor to raise the rear a little. Installed a new fire extinguisher in the trunk too. Just need to take the Mark back to Aric's shop next week to give it the once-over, and should be good to go.

So far it's not looking to hot. But the CE is gone as of last night.
If not this year, I would probably make it next year with the one and only ;) ;)

Yep, there was some glitches with the trailer when we went to pick it up. Bad communication on my part. Guy was great and said he'd get it fixed and i left empty handed but happy that it was going to be right when i pick it up on second trip. I'll probably be riding up with Marvin and IOWNCARS is following us up. I have to give him a ring on the cell and make plans. (been so busy lately doing a million other things).
I got the Chevy dually at dealership for sale, (going with a diesel after talking with the big dogs of the hauling buisness.) No way can i compete for prices with a gasser. Much as i love a fuel injected 454. lol

I will be there rain or shine. With or without a ride.
I'll be the guy in the pits with a bottle of windex and a clean rag for the windshields. hahah! I'll bring my digi cam to make myself usefull. :)

I worked all last night on the Mark and got my wiring all sorted out the way i want them to run. When its done you won't be able to see any wiring up top of the engine except the alternator wires and the injectors 2 skinny separate harnesses in black plastiwrap tucked under the fuel rails.
I guess now should be the time i switch over to COP system while everythings unwrapped.
