I have abandoned my stock in dash stereo and have a replacement. My problem is and has been that the trunk mounted factory CD unit is holding hostage my CDs. I want to retrieve these CDs and am asking if there is a civilized way to retrieve them from this unit or do we have to get real nasty?

Check on the extreme left side of the dash board below the light switch for a thumb wheel that controls the brightness of your dash lights. It has been rotated to the extreme right to cause your lights to go on. Just rotate it back a tad.
