2K9 Keg Fight

So, at the Silly Hat party, we had 2 of those tiny kegs and Hubby said we had too much leftover beer.

I was going to get a pony keg of Bell's Oberon, but was told today they can only get a 1/2 barrel.

So I've ordered the small Dogfish Head 60 Minute IPA.

Hubby says it's too hoppy. I disagree. I loved it. I want to get a Goose Island also as he decided we're going with a Chicago theme.

Thus leads me to another poll. Again, poll results will be visible (thus we can discount Steve's vote if I don't like it).

I've never tried those beers, but I am a hop head. I love hoppy ales.

I will be bringing Guinness also, to share with the non hop heads.

And I doubt anyone would consider those beers flowery. And I'm not counting your vote.

Good answer, I would also add in fresh, beer when stored properly has about a 3 month shelf life from when it was packaged for the best flavor. Most of those fruity specialty girly beers probably do not rotate on the shelves that much so they could be old. Also you need to keep beer in bottles away from light or it can get skunked. Brown bottles are the best for light protection, with green then clear being the worst.

I don't drink girly, fruity beers either.

I see people putting limes in their Coronas and it makes me cringe. That's just to cover up the skunk taste caused by the clear glass bottle (I agree about skunky beer in clear and green bottles).

I used to enjoy the 'pony' bottles for that very reason - COLD to the last drop.
