78 mark V throttle cable

looking for a throttle cable for my 78 lincoln mark V, for the 460, convenience would be if it was in canada, but then again, i wouldnt be too picky if i had to buy from the states either

This might be a shot in the dark but maybe Max at five star ford could either get you the part or the part number. You can try giving him a call it can't hurt. Do a search on LOD, I'm sure the phone number is here. Good luck!

I checked www.partsvoice.com and the only lincoln model they list for 1978 is the Versailles. And the only part they have for that is a trans.

partsamerica.com lists the car but they don't have a listing for throttle cable or accelerator cable. Same with www.autozone.com.

Sorry i couldn't be of more help.

I'll bet that you can make a cable that will work out of components that you can find at your local bicycle shop, though. Sometimes when you have a 26 year old car you have to be a bit creative :).

Try looking for the part# for a '78 LTD, or if you have a 460, a '76 T-bird or even a Marquis. Most of mid '70's Ford large cars have interchangable components. If you still have no luck, I'll dig through the inches of snow to see if the number is on the cable f my '79. Mine is a 400, and I don't know if it's the same as for the 460.
