blowing away the kitty

RE: blowing away the kitty

1) I'm not going to be incriminating anyone here, because
2) no and
3) no

Some marks (i believe only the 96-up) have rear o2 sensors that check to see if the cats are working. If your car has these and you gut the cats, you either need a re-tune or mil eliminators to get rid of the c/e light.

If you take out the cats you will not pass inspection. The first generation (well, my 95 at least) has oxygen sensors, too. I removed my cats because the state I'm registered in doesn't perform emmisions testing. I eventually got headers and had to plug the oxygen sensor ports and trick the computer for everything to run smoothly. But, as usual, no matter what the cost and hassle, its always worth it.
