I have looked high and low for a cowl hood. Anyone know where I can get one at a resonable price. 1996 Mark VIII

Thanks,

Chris

RE: Cowl Hood

I did call Fast Glas and they no longer make them. The guy that owns it now never even had a clue at what I was talking about.

RE: Cowl Hood

haha Nope, im still sucking sand for another month and a half or so in Iraq. Then I'll be back in the States once more. I'll have to get hood painted but I will take before and after pics of the hood unfinished, and then on car painted stock dark blue. Also I'll take pics of the Art Carr tranny.
I have to order some stainless steel premade hoses from Dennis first though, that come with his tranny cooler kit. I'll use my current B&M one for a oil cooler now when I get the remote filter bolted up. Then, the coolers will be installed side by side up front in the factory holes where the B&M used to be.
Mann I feel like a kid at Christmas, I can't wait to get home. I got Genos wing on the back too so it should look like his old pics of the termin8ter on his old website, same color too. Just with my 20 spoke rims though till i get the 17 X9 Cobra R's :D

Sierra, mind if I ask...what did the hood cost you, to your door?

how long did it take to get once you(pardon the expression) pulled the trigger?

RE: Cowl Hood

I tried to pm you but it doesn't work here for some reason. I'm not back yet so the hood beat me back to the States. 600.00 plus another 100.00 in freight. I'll let you know with pics I post up here when i get back. I'm not too worried about it. I was impressed at the quickness of getting the part.
I called ahead to the dealership that its getting shipped to to let them know the freight is prepaid and to accept it. Also a tranny and mounts are comming too, as I can't have big thigs like that mailed to my house without a dock.
I just hope the shipping company was carefull in shipping. I'm sick and tired of getting banged up things from UPS or whoever. Then they say "ohh its just a little scratch, it'll buff out" haha I didnt pay for that scratch or your substandard approach at fixing my problem.

I'll post pics when i get it painted, can't wait.. :)

RE: Cowl Hood

If anyone is handy with fiberglass or a body man i still have my 1st ordered broken one for sale. (had to buy another one from the new manufacurer that I am happy to say packaged it bulletproof and properly, and it is the white gelcoat pic you see in other post.)
The original has cracks on back two corners that go against the winshield. The original manufacturer had just slid it into a box and of course it was damaged in shipping being unsupported.::nono:: . Still havent been able to track him down and get my money back,x( so now i want to sell the hood as a fixer upper. The surface of the corners are cracked, not broken off and can be fixed with supporting fiberglass and resanded down before painting. I'll take pics when i get time. I was thinking of paying to have it repaired locally and then selling it on the auction site, but am holding off for now. I am nervous about boxing it up for shipping and would rather have a local pickup or my personnal delivery with my truck. Can't trust anyone to do it right unless you do it yourself.
