Blue Oval Chips
I guess this is as good a place as any to put this.
I belong to one of the local car clubs here in IN which has the unique privilege of also owning its own cruise spot. The Suds Hot Rod Club was formed to support The Suds Drive-In. This drive-in use to be one of the original Dog N Suds. Most of the older guys will remember those. When the car club purchased the drive-in the name was changed to just The Suds. This place was built back in 1957 and is still in operation served with 50s and 60s style. Each Friday night and Saturday afternoon through the evening they support 300 – 500 hotrods offering the 50 – 60s type cruise atmosphere, parking, car shows, food and great car type people to hang out with. The car club operates the whole thing, restaurant, valet parking and car hops, no roller skates though…lol. We as a car club rely on volunteers from the car club to operate the whole thing so it’s a nonprofit organization. The whole idea is to keep the hot rod custom of cruise nights and continue the tradition of cruising The Suds from 1957 on. You don’t have to have a 1950 Ford Custom or a 32 Highboy to show up and enjoy the fun. There are a lot of the late models that are showing up more and more also. As for the Marks and other Lincolns, so far I’ve seen a few of the of the 50s and 60s vehicles and probably 5 or 6 of the VIIIs show up. Anyways, if anyone is in the area from now until the last weekend of Oct you may want to stop by and check it out. Here’s the website and address. The Suds
