I've got a 2001 F150 that has 535,000 miles on it. She's running great but I know it will not last forever. Replacing it will be costly, and with a disability income, I can't afford it. I live in FL, and there are tons of Grand Marquis, and Town Cars here, and I like them, so I started to shop for a cheap one. During my search, which was a bit overwhelming, I came acrss a few of the Mark VIII's, and they peaked my interest. When I decided to get one, I picked out one with what I assumed was a repaint, cammellion or how ever you spell that. I made an appointment to go see it, and while waiting for the time, I did some research, and found out that the factory only made a few hundred with that paint ... I got excited!! Within 20 of the time I found this out, the chick called and told me the guy in line in front of me bought it. The nerve!!! But by now, I'm on a mission. I ended up with the opposite end of the spectrum, with a 1998 Base Model, white, or some pearly ivory color I guess. Perfect Florida body, but a few minor trim issues, plus all the Mark VII signature crap features, driver seat control panel, alternator cover fasteners, headlight issues, etc. Happy to have it, and looking forward to making it special!!!
