gettin closer

I am getting very close to purchasing a Navigator. It looks like a 2000 is in my price range. I have been doing alot of research and came up with a few questions.

1) what is a "power package"
2) do they all come with the third row seat. Some point out that they have it, and others dont say anything about it.
3) other than a receiver for towing does the towing package include anything else.
4) do they all have air ride.
5) what kind of option packages are there. Are there certain things that I should make sure to get and are there others to avoid.
6) does anybody tow with theirs. I intend to pull a 4,500 lb. boat and want to make sure the truck is up to the task.
7) does anybody know where I can find one at a good price.

Thanks in advance for any help.

RE: gettin closer

1) what is a "power package"

Have no idea what the power package is.

2) do they all come with the third row seat. Some point out that they have it, and others dont say anything about it.

All of them have the third row seat. If you don't want it, it takes about a minute to remove from the car. Just put it in storage somewhere. Though the middle row came with a bench seat if you didn't order the optional middle row bucket seats.

3) other than a receiver for towing does the towing package include anything else.

Yes it does. Off hand I'm not sure what those where, but yes it included more than just the receiver. Next time I'm at home I'll pull out the info and look for you.

4) do they all have air ride.

Yes, all of them are rear air ride. No air ride in the front.

5) what kind of option packages are there. Are there certain things that I should make sure to get and are there others to avoid.

Option packages, I'm not sure on, but I could list the options out for you. Ours came equipped with everything but power folding side mirrors and heated/air conditioned seats. The GPS is good times, I recomended it. Though be aware that it costs $100 per DVD used for the navigation system, and I believe the nation is divided up into 7 sections.

6) does anybody tow with theirs. I intend to pull a 4,500 lb. boat and want to make sure the truck is up to the task.

Haven't towed towed with it. But it pulled our F250 out of mud that was stuck about 1/2 to 2/3 of the way up on the wheels in mud. It just gripped and pulled. Made some ruts of its own but pulled the truck right out.

7) does anybody know where I can find one at a good price.

Anywhere. The Navigators depreciate just as well as the Marks. Ours was around $58K when new. With 40K miles on it and in excellent condition we'd be lucky to get $30K for it now.

He was talking about the 2000 model, which does not have navigation, and other options you mentiond. They redesigned it in 2003.

RE: gettin closer

I was talking about the 00 model also. Thats what we have. And yes, it does have those options.

OK... I’ll give you cooled seats.. But have not found anything about a Navigation system according to all the websites I visited :p

Please post a pic for a '00 Navigator with a Navigation system if you have one of your's. Im not doubting you, its just i never seen it through all these years at the auction.

RE: gettin closer

Thanks for the quick response guys. Been having computer problems so I could not respond very quickly. Does anybody know where there is a more active Navigator site where I can learn more about them. Send it to me in a pm so we are not advertising for people to go elsewhere. I intend to share the knowlege gained, but there doesnt seem to be much activity here yet.

RE: gettin closer

This thread's two years old and not even a page down.

Answered some of my questions. I'm thinking an '00 is in my price range now, but that price range is more like 15k. I guess those thing depreciate just like the marks! $3 a gallon means a buyers market for SUV's!
