Hi

I am going to install my HID saturday.
Do you HID guys have any hints on install the HID?
Do I need to mess with the multifunction switch?
Do I need to install relay?

What about the alarm?
Everytime the alarm goes off the low bean light turn on and off.

Ummm.....don't break the mounting studs. :)

I didn't mess with my Multifunction Switch because I never use my high beams now that I have the HID's(I CAN SEEEEEE YAY!). Plus when you "flash" people, you PULL the lever which doesn't turn on the low beams.

I didn't install a relay setup but I'd advise doing it and having the power wire from the headlight switch as the "trigger" wire for the relay.

I mounted my drivers side ballast inside the front grill up against one of the header panel supports. The other balast I installed where my air box used to be.

The alarm.....I have NO clue! I'd love to turn that function off because I always beep'd that thing, plus I was going to install my air horn as the beeper so I could mess with people in a grocery store parking lot and scare the crap out of them as they walked by, lol. Maybe others can suggest a wire to cut?

Here are picture of the install.
All I have to do is install the bumper.

The light are installed and work great.I was going to reinstall the bumper last night but I did not feel good.

You did not have to take the bumper cover off.
WTH! :banghead:

I got that air thing out and the air ride pump out too.

Look my engine bay is dirty as J engine bay. :)

ROFL! You guys are awesome! My engine bay is clean...remember I got yelled at for using the pressure washer? :D

Stone.....NO you didn't need to take the bumper off, haha. I'm sure it helped get the compressor out though, next you need to remove the air silencers! Go buy some JB weld and a hack saw.

See how both pictures have the same brightness? Thats why I didn't do the MFLS mod, haha. I NEVER use my high beams, they are halogen and have half the brightness of my HID's. Yeah yeah...the highs are aimed different, but I can already see down the road, whats the point of lighting up the trees when I'm driving?

He forgot to mention he put a tranny cooler on during this process, which is why he removed the bumper cover.

While removing the bumper to install a trans cooler would help....in the position he installed it, I don't think it was still necessary. :D

J, How hot does your tranny get?

I was doing burn out and when I got home the tranny cooler was at 160F.

I was doing burn out

LOL...no wonder you need tires, haha.

Normal everyday driving its between 140-160, when towing it goes up to 180-190 in stop and go traffic.

160 after a burnout is perfectly fine. :D

210+ is starting to get hairy
