Hello im new. :fart Im a Ford person, the rest of my brothers are Cheby lovers so i get the worst of it. I own a 85 BKO with a 6inch lift, 35" tires, Modded as phuck 351w and modded c6 with rebuilt tcase, 4.11 gears. You know the usual bells and whistles. Im no stranger to Fords. I consider that my "TOY", but it sucks on gas at 8-9mpg. lmao. so like a year ago I came across a Mark VII LSC 1988. It sat for about a year since it need head gaskets and a heater core. I did the head gaskets. All cylinders are A-OK for 168k. I bypassed the heater core since i noticed steam heating the windshield. Was a given i guess, but i also removed a temp sensor also that i wanted to put back in. So today since i have off for a paid vacation and i can have some downtime i decided lets change this $20 part. not exspecting to find out i have to remove the dash and i should prob exspect 8hrs of work for a $20 part. lmao. So im looking for a "writeup" or tech manual for the 88 as im accustomed to finding these for my bko on there forums. The Haynes pretty much says take it to the mechanic. Well i am the mechanic in this case. I have almost all the lines for ac removed off the firwall except one. looks like i need one of the special tools for the gas line for that. think i have one layign around or 2 or 3. hehe. Im also looking for a retart version for the vacuum lines on this thing as the sticker thats "suppose" to be on the frame support isnt there. I think thats about it. oh wait i have more. im lookign for a part number i guess for the kick down cable that attached to the throttle body. It basically a clip that holds the cable to the throttle body. Mines missing and i have it zip tied on. The closest ford stealership closed down so i was hoping to order it online. i heard its liek $4 and would prob stop the tranny from slipping out of OD. Typical AOD, gimmie a C6 anyday. Oh i failed to mention my real name is John, i go by equivalent or bigred. and dropped 160pds to fit in the Lincoln. down from 432 to 273 and am 6'3". So much for making paragraphs :p

Welcome.

Ouch.
Not a small task. If you have the time and patience, the you'll need a lot of masking tape. I was told to remove both front seats, drop the steering column to the floor, remove all dash trim, remove all supporting screws, disconnect all electrical connections, (you'll need to mark them with tape and number each set), remove the dash board, disconect the blower and ductwork for both coils, split open the hearter coil casing, remove it, pressure test the new coil, pressure test the new coil a second time, put everything back together.

The sticker is on the fan guard. A better explaination is in the EVTM.

See above.

Me too. John "OldSchool1" Dancy.

The weight lost reminds me of an old punchline.

Paragraphs are for Nerds.
