I had fifteen minutes to kill so ...
I took delivery of a
1984 Lincoln Mark VII Gianni Versace TD (officially named OldSchool8)
and a
1984 Lincoln Mark VII LSC TD (officially named oldschool8.5), the parts car.

You Can Never Have Too Many Marks

You Can Never Have Too Many Marks

Your sickness is progressing John. :D
I couldn't hear you John.
I was too busy listening to the engine hum :)

Dude. It was a two for one deal. The brown colored Gianni Versace is rare, as in less than 1000 produced rare. Yeah, they're like jelly beans. Addictive. The cool thing is that the parts car is LOADED with goodies that I'm donating to the Club for sale as parts. It's a complete 1984 Lincoln Mark VII Turbo Diesel sans the upper half of the engine :)

Oh wait ... and the SEATS in the parts car are even more rare than the Versace! They're blue velour heated seats! Bidding will start at no less than $500.00 for the set.

Yeah ... I'm sick but Man is it fun!

Congrats John! 8.5 lol, I like that!
Thank you. I had to throw the .5 in there because it's parked in front of my house. My county is fickle about little things like tall grass and cars with pieces missing. So we get to gut it WITHOUT removing any exterior pieces.
Sounds like fun, congrats
Thank you. Fun is: having to make an appointment to merge into traffic with a 4200 pound vehicle making 115 hp :)
Heated Velour Seats?

Heck why don't they make those anymore? I'm not a fan of leather but I like my heat!
Primarily women were the original purchasers of these rare options! If you've ever worn a skirt or short dress in the summer and then tried to hop into a car with leather seats, it can be a sizzling experience! The workaround was to order your new car with either cloth or velore seats. The inverse is true of the winter. Warm thighs on a cold leather surface made for a rude wake up call. The heated seat option changed that too. In 1984 and 1985, Lincoln understood this and filled the void nicely! By 1986 though, the option was dropped. I can only speculate that it was due to low sales.

The seats will be available as soon as I can first get well (bed bound with a nasty cold) and then get motivated to start gutting this parts car.
