Just saying Hi!

Just found you guys. I traded my 02 Explorer and 02 T-Bird for my 04 Aviator. Silver Birch Ultimate. This has all the luxury and features that the T-Bird should have had. I am still finding out all the goodies. Ownership is now two weeks old.:)

RE: Just saying Hi!

Welcome aboard. Very nice truck indeed. I loved them from the moment I saw them. The only reason I did not buy one was because the engine was not big enough to tow my boat.

RE: Just saying Hi!

Thanks for the warm welcome from all you guys. I hope to stay in touch. I am thinking about adding chrome wheels probably OEM's but I am hesitant due to snow in the winter and the cost of the replacements. Any thoughts?

RE: Just saying Hi!

Go with aftermarket rims. They will be of much higher quality and cost much less. If you are looking at oem rims, you are probably alot like me and dont get into the flashy stuff. There are a ton of rims out there to choose from that will look great without people yelling bling bling when you drive by. The chrome rims that came stock on my navi are terrible looking. They did a fine job of chroming them, but most of the rim is unfinished and just chromed over. Lincoln better get their act together on the little details like this. There is a reason we spent more money on a lincoln. We want refinement.

Right on Flamark! Bling Bling is not my thing. Thanks for your advice. Because of all the snow between November and March, this will probably beccome a Spring project.

RE: Just saying Hi!

I would also suggest finding out your bolt pattern and backspace. Armed with that information I would find out what other cars ford produced with the same bolt pattern. From there I would keep an eye on ebay. Placing a search for rims for an aviator with net very few results. Placing a search for something like an explorer will result in far more hits. I am not saying that the explorer has the same pattern, but am using it as an example. Make sure they have the same pattern. Do not trust somebody selling stuff on an auction site to tell you the truth. They will lie to you to make a sale. As an example, there are alot of people selling air intake kits for the '01 navi. They claim it will fit with no problems. Then with closer inspection I have found that the kit is for the 2 valve truck engine and will not fit on my 4 valve motor.
