I've known abou these for a while, but I promised not to tell till they announcement was made. Kicker has released a new line of amps, the SX series, aimed at superb Sound quality, along with the tremendous power kicker is known for.
The heart of the new amps is an incredible array of digital processing built into the amps. You do do just about anything with the crossovers, eq's, gains whatever. 36 dB per octave XO'S! 48 db/oct. on the class D models! The new amps use the same chassis as the KX series, so they are still pretty big. However, instead of a full shroud that can be emoved, it's just endcaps now.
While they put out more power than KX series, it's not a signifgant amount more. The highest powered amp is rated at 1250 watts, however, the birthsheets should be reading well in excess of 1500 watts, most likely as much as 1600 watts. I'm still waiting for a nice mega amp to power the solo X though :-(.
Anyways, these amps ought to blow away most competion, even some higher end amps. I would dare to say they are above even arc audio in SQ, defintatly in features, but I'll wait till more testing can be done (or till I decide to buy them
