Leaking problem!!

Hi guys..

I bought a Mark VII '88 Bill Blass like 2 moths ago.. The vehicle runs and feels great, definitely MINT.. However recently I am having problems with it..

My car is leaking oil and gas!! When I park it for around 15 minutes or so, I can see that oil had been dripping under it. I checked where it was leaking, and saw that there is a big screw kinda thing right under the engine and that is where it leaks..it is located in the middle under the engine.. Is there anything I can do to fix this, or do I have to pay for it?? :)

Plus, it leaks gas too.. I noticed that when I was filling her up the previous day. The leak is at the right side of the rear of the car, below the fuel tank cap. And I feel like it is leaking gas somewhere under the hood too, because I can smell gas when I park my car after a drive..

Are these common problems, and does anyone have an idea about what I can do about these??

Thx!!

Emm it sounds like your drain plug is leaking the oil... which should be easy enough... just tighten it a bit.

Now the gas would be harder to trace hmm.

Welcome.
That's a perfect example of a Sandalwood Bill Blass.
My car is leaking oil and gas!! When I park it for around 15 minutes or so, I can see that oil had been dripping under it. I checked where it was leaking, and saw that there is a big screw kinda thing right under the engine and that is where it leaks..it is located in the middle under the engine.. You're probably looking at one of the oil pan drain plugs. It's just about the low point of the engine so, if you had a leaking valve cover gasket, and it was allowed to continue for a while, the oil would eventually make it to that low point. Oil can only leak from our
passenger side valve cover
driver side valve cover
PCV valve
oil filter
and
oil pan
Clean around these areas and check again or send it to the shop.
Plus, it leaks gas too.. I noticed that when I was filling her up the previous day. The leak is at the right side of the rear of the car, below the fuel tank cap.
If you overfill the tank, it will drip out a hose rearward of the filler. If you have a leak forward of the filler, then it's probably not gas but water from rain or the latest car wash. It's easier to find a fuel leak with the engine OFF than ON. If you want to tackle it, I'll walk you through it.
And I feel like it is leaking gas somewhere under the hood too, because I can smell gas when I park my car after a drive..
That smell ~may~ be normal. Our fuel evaporator cans are in the engine bay, passenger side. Without going into details, it could be partially full and in need of a cleaning/replacement. The other possibility are the dozen or so connections for fuel at the injectors and the rail and regulator and return lines. Again, something for the shop.

Common? Nope. If you want to tackle em, there's a dozen people here that will walk you through it. Easy way is to take it to the nearest trusted shop. Ask your friends.
You're welcome.
Thanks for saving another Lincoln Mark VII from becoming a tin can :)
