LMS exhaust

Does muffler location make a difference? I still want to go with the 40 Series Flowmasters. Do I get one dual in/dual out muffler for the center or 2 mufflers for the back like it came stock? I'm looking for aggressiveness.

Yeah. It's all about turbulence and back pressure. Putting flows at the back are too gurgly and raspy. My 3 magna flows sound really good in my opinion and there is no drone and it's really smooth and crisp.

So no one's mentioned drone, which is why I thought we make sure to have an x in there somewhere, or do I have 2? I can't remember it's been so long, they don't even make my mufflers anymore.

i got the 2X and the powertone x mufflers i got from LMS that they I believe they don't make anymore. Drone is not an issue.

No drone on my Mark with my present set-up, but I did have drone with the Magnaflow mid-mount in the 97 Thunderbird. That Magnaflow has a built-in X-pipe.

Post right above yours did. :)

I think what she meant was the existence of drone not the lack of it. It was just confusing how she worded it. She might still be on some medication from the surgery. Give her a break ;) LOL

there are lots of ways to make power with exhaust but if your going to spend alot of money get one that is mandrel bent ... if not just take pictures from the boards to the exhaust shop and ask them to copy it.
