long short butterflies

RE: long short butterflies

Several have performed the "IMRC delete". From what I know, unless you are planning a supercharger, you will lose torque in the lower rpm band.

RE: long short butterflies

i took them out with my new engine. i lost some torque bu given the fact that i have mild cams it isnt to bad. i think it will be getting some 3.73's soon so that will fix it. good luck

If you really want to fix it, get a high stall converter and avoid low rpms altogether.

How 'bout 4.10s or 4.30s with a 3500 stall converter?

Then you'll need drag radials for normal everyday driving! ;) But that would work also...

well i am gonna put 373s and a 3k stall in it
[/div]

Then the IMRCs are irrelevant, as you will be above 3k rpms anytime you floor it. If anything, removing the IMRCs should improve intake as it would get the butterflies completely out of the way.

RE: long short butterflies

fox lake just finished my heads/cams. just sent them the cobra intake. spose i should tell them to take the butterflys out. since im puttin in that 3000.

Hmmm...that would be some tricky clutch feathering going on there...
