i am considering putting a complete mark v111 drivetrain and interior into my mark 11. it has been done and i have seen pictures in fact the car was at delmar this year and i understand it was built in the oregon area by an unknown builder (and he did an outstanding job). what i would like for my fellow mark admirers in the great northwest to dig into and try to find this builder as i would like to discuss this conversion before i start on mine. need any help you northwesterners can supply as to this builder. this person must be well know and travel in the lincoln circles, there must be someone who can help. thanks bill

There's a shop near here (Tampa Bay area) that built a 49 Merc convertable with a Mark VIII drivetrain and interior. I've seen it at several local car shows.

thanks for the info----do you know the name of the shop, address or phone number thanks again bill m

I'll see if I can find it. Several years ago when I was at Dennis Reinhart's shop, he had a 57 Tbird there with a Mark VIII drivetrain in it. He knows Mark VIII's real well. You should talk to him.

Jack,

I looked at the Convertible with the Mark VIII drive train and Interior at a Daytona Show a few years ago ! Suprisingly the construction pictures showed that it is/was a 1949 Lincoln Convertible with a Mercury front end/clip !

Good Luck,
Sonny
