I had an old cavalier that did the job but it was getting to be time, so I traded up for this but didn't spend alot. This is my new daily driver, its a 2000 BMW 323i, 5-speed (only thing I don't completely like) but its clean and in better condition

Be prepared for Maxs reply. :)

Looks good, DEFINITELY and upgrade from a Cavalier.

hmm u have to be really careful with the 1999-2002 3 series... they have rear subframe problems that can cause some really serious issues. BMW did a voluntary recall if you bitched a lot... since the fix is somewhere around $6500.

It affects usually high mileage examples with manual transmission since there are more vibrations associated with the 5 speed and it accelerates the metal fatigue.

That said, the E46 is my fav bmw to this day. U should manage to pull off some pretty decent MPGs and that engine is indestructible.

You two should take your act on the road :D

Nope. FYL! :D AHHAHAHAHA

Steve....Max know's his cars, he just doesn't let it out much, well not on here atleast. I took a picture of my neighbors Crossfire and said its my S2000's replacement. He just sent a text back that said "No." HAHA! You should have been part of this 3 week long process of buying his 92(?) 325i that I found for him. He researched the crap out of those things before settling.

It's helpful to me because when I want to buy a camera, TV, phone, car, or travel, I call Max first. :D

based on max's posts, it seems I could still be covered, the car has 162k miles on it anyway so....

He can look past the German prestige and know that some German cars can be crap as well. :D

Yes, lots of VWs are junk. Most older Audis. Heck a lot of Mercedes too. Haha!

When MB / Daimler bought Chrysler the Germans were like we are going to show the Americans how to build cars. And I guess they did since during the merger years I am sure Chrysler was rated better then MB lol

A good friend picked up a brand new 2004 Crossfire for a song in 2007. it had been sitting on the same rural Wisconsin lot the entire time. He sold it less than a year later. Something about wanting a car that used four of the same size tires..
