new subs...finally

well, sort of...these are the subs ive had for a couple of years now that i replaced with the now blown kicker. theyre 2 12" PPI flat piston subs, not the pros, and theyre 8 ohm speakers. ive got them seeing 400 a piece in an old ass prefab bandpass box. im afraid to really push these until i can find a 3rd one somewhere and have a custom ported box made. so far i havent been able to find many older ppi subs, much less the 8 ohm version.

quick question, bare with me,

what if i just bought a 4 ohm version. would that affect the sound at all? am i retarded for even considering this option?

The sound may be off just a little due to the varience in T/S parameters between 4 and 8 ohm subs. THer biggest problem your going to having is wiring them all together. It's strongly recomended not to mix them like that, unless you going to use separate amps to power them.
