I was trying to clay bar the mark today, and I keep seeing what I imagine is the old wax streaking while claying...I washed her with dish soap before hand and just to be safe I rewashed with car soap right after....Anyone have a suggestion as to what to try next...I feel the paint smoothing out,but the wax streak is a b*&ch to work with. As always TIA. Al.

It is easy to scratch a car with the clay bar if your car is very dirty or you just aren't folding it often enough. You might need to do some buffing.

I just washed her,and went over it with the ID before claying. But she is in need of a buffing,of this I am aware.

buy a new claybar and use the clay lube that comes with the claybar. what you are seeing is clay sticking to the car. i have had it happen to me a few times trying to use instant detailer with certain clays. your best bet is to buy a mothers claybar and use the mothers showtime thats what comes with the clay as a lubricant.

BTW,it's done nothing but rain since I finished....But that's my luck.

it wont stop here, its ridiculous; i have the exact same problem. i've been waiting to wash it and probaly buff it. i need to get the headlights out so i can send them to jamie to be redone.. i can't do anything in this weather :frown::mad:
