Pinkin 1986 Lincoln Mark Vii Factory Painted Shell Pink

Lookin' good John! :)

That trophy looks familiar. ;)

Thanks. It's my favorite :)

PINKIN has been to four shows and got rained on three times but returned home with three trophies and a plaque. I REALLY enjoy talking to collectors and the like about the car. When they realize that it's a One of One, the conversation normally goes toward enclosed trailers and climate controlled garages.

After buying PINKIN, I'm lucky to be able to eat three meals a day ... but it's worth it! ;)

Does anyone here really think that car looks good or are we just being nice?.

It's not a matter of how it looks or the condition it's presently in (it does need a LOT of TLC) but more a matter of it's uniqueness. Don't forget, this is not a repaint, it's a one of a kind factory special order and it's all the more interesting because a former member here was the original owner. Most of us have followed the various times it's changed hands and when John showed up with it at Carlisle we all knew it was the infamous Pinkin!

I know and I know Sandy the original owner from the Cadillac forums. I agree, its unique and instantly recognizeable. Ok, maybe I jumped the gun with my comment.

Congrats on your recent Adoption, John

Congrats on your recent Adoption, John

John, someone sent me a link to this, so I came back here for a few moments to express my pleasure in your obtaining my ex-car. It's bounced around thru 6 or 7 owners, since I owned her and I feel that finally, she has been adopted by a loving home. The owners in between you & I loved her too, but tired of her. Some quickly, others not too quickly. As you know, I had been in touch with each & every one of them. This is the only car that has traveled MORE miles in an enclosed trailer, than under her own power on the road. New Jersey to Pa to Fla to Mass. to Fla (again) to Calif. and back to Pa. !!

Yes, I have had a 2003 Town Car - The Mid-Year Special Edition, called "THE LIMITED" - now, since April 7th of 2003. I love the car. The car is a spoiler. Cloud-like ride, total interior silence and just a dream.
It's Light Silver-Green Metallic, called "Mineral Green" with a grey/beige interior, moonroof, 6-disc, and all the rest. It just turned 9,500 miles, in 4 years.
I have it sold to a waiting party, and I am waiting to see IF (key word) IF Lincoln will be offering a Comemmorative Edition Town Car for '08. The '08 goes into production in Jan '08 and last call for orders is going to be the end of April, '08 Last car will be built in June, '08.
{ I may try for special paint, again !! - No, not pink. } I'd like a Copper, or Bronze or Gold.

PS / The man that guided me thru the roadways to get Pinkin made, who saw to it that she was
sent to Lincoln's custom craft center and that the color paint I wanted (1959 Flamingo) was
properly mixed and followed her thru the build, sadly passed away in 2005.
He was a sweetheart !!

Sandy OH, P.S. Hello Last Mark ! Bud, rest assured that YES, the plastic is still on the back seat,
>>>>>>> all the way across, top & bottom, and yes, Matt graduated #1 in his class at the University and
had straight "A"s all 8 semisters. Was voted MLTS by his peers ~ Was also President of the accounting Society & lead Trumpet in the University Band. He has past Parts 1 & 2 (of 4) State Tests to be certified & earn his CPA.
Has also gotten very involed in EMT and has past the EMT training and is a certified EMT Technician, and drivesthe ambulence. He has twice been credited with saving a life !

SANDY! OH MY GOD.... SANDY!!

Finally a post from our long lost Sandy! Could this possibly mean a return to the boards? Your emails always protested you would not post but like the saying goes... "Never say never again!"

There was a reason...

There was a reason...

Someone forwarded to me parts of this particular discussion, and I felt that Bud & Last Mark deserved an answer. (I actually met Bud, when he drove up this way, a few years ago.) This board is very hard to sign up onto, and everytime I attempt to post, it requires me to start all over and re-register. I've made 2 posts and have taken 4 passwords to log on, & then it forgets. I am too busy to get involved in yet another board, especially one as large as this one. I am on the Town Car Board; The Cadillac Owners board, Alexander's Square Birds board and run my own ascMcLaren board. (Which has grown to HUGE! We have more members than cars were built!)

That's all ready too much.

Pinkin is looking mighty fine, and I am overjoyed that a loving owner now has her.
I was very saddened to learn (a while back) of the untimely passing of a very important person on this site. I do hear tid bits over on the Squarebirds board. I joined up there to support Alexander's new venture when it first began, and he did likewise on my ascMcLaren board. It's kinda funny as he knows nothing about these ascMcLarens, and I know very very little about 1958-1960 T-Birds, but it didn't matter, "somebody was talking" and little by little we each got a big following.

So, Leo, it's nice to ""see"" you, again and you be well.
If anyone ever addresses any Pinkin questions - shoot them over to me.

I'm happy to see you post. Whether you return with all your Lincoln etc. knowledge, is up to you of course.

Good to hear about Matt and how well he's doing.

Wow, it's nice to hear from Sandy again!

Glad to see that "Pinkin" has found a good home!

Pinkin is a very good & a very tight & strong car.
Actually, all 3 Lincolns I've had (1986/1998 & 2003) have been
exceptionally great cars, each with a different "personality", and each had features that I mised in either the one prior, or the one after.
Neither Mark was a very good "family" car, and I appreciate that in my Town Car, whose name, BTW is "Towniee" ~My wife likes Towniee the best, because of the 21 Cu In trunk. We now supermarket shop only 2 times in 4 weeks. I've had 20 grocery bags and a 12 pack of soda and 6 gallons of water in there.
Only weak spot is Torque & H.P. Has not much get up & GO power. 239 H.P. & 4,000 pounds, 'ya know ~ but it can still move along pretty well.
I LOVE THE EXCLUSIVNESS OF THE CHARCOAL GRILLE, that only THE LIMITED had. I'll see if I can put a link to her mug ! :)

I've been using "Sourvine-by-Pinnacle" ~ $90.00 a container over the April-October time-frame, but it can be picked up for like $60.00 in the dead of winter. Fairly esy to use, and a fantastic glow. She is a light Silver-Green with a very high metallic pigment content. It sorta changes shades. In the brilliant sun, she is alotlighter than that picture, and in the shade, (as in that picture) she's darker. For her size, she's not especially hard to do. It's that rounded shape.
Interesting thing was good old Maplecrest L-M. I did have just one problem, and it was 2 weeks ago. My reverse warning system checked out. Took it to Maplecrest and they found that the internal system crapped.
The new one and all of the related parts and the labor & the tax brought the repair to $ 1,275.00. Since she is out of warrantee by JUST 4 months, and Towniee has 9,980 miles on herself, they called FoMoCo - Lincoln Tech Div. and spoke to ??? Anyhow, Ford agreed to pick up the tab for all LABOR AND the sales tax! I paid $374.00 for the parts. Lincoln picked up $901.00.
IF IF IF Lincoln brings out a "Collector Edition" or a"Comemmorative Edition" 2008, to mark the end of the Town Car, I will order. If not... I will continue to own Towniee. I have the most patient man in NJ who will wait for me to decide. He said just call him, and he will come & get her for $20,000.
They are giving $10,000 off MSRLP on 2007 Town Cars, right now.
But I want the last one (from Canada) but only if its a Special Model, code 54 followed by a letter.

Mildstones, Smokin The Cheap Stuff, Rain Storms

Thank you all.

"Beauty is in the eye of the beholder."
I never have and never will be offended by comments about PINKIN. If there are 200 show goers and 100 view PINKIN then 50 have something to say and only about three have anything negative to say. Those three are normally Kids under 30 that smell like they just finished smoking the cheap stuff and haven't bathed today, but hey ...

Pinkin has just completed a milestone in August of 2007.

Sandy.
Pinkin has been back in Jersey THREE times and THREE times, the skies have opened up long before I could even consider coming in your direction. Check out this attempt to attend a Cruise in Edison, NJ http://thelincolnmarkviiclub.org/Gallery/20070621nj/

The show will go on.

I have been to that Cruise at the "Wick" {Wick Shopping Center} on Route # 1 in Edison! It's only 35 minutes from me.What in the world were you doing here ? Poor Pinkin. NEXT time let ,know! We'll meet up ! IF IF IF you came down thr Garden State Parkway to get to Rt 1 - you passed my exit/ I am at 148. It would be nice to meet up.

You will ALWAYS have detractors, who will critique Pinkin. I learned fast to develop a hard outter shell. IF everyone liked it ... it would not BE the unusual car it is.

The ones that swore up & down that it was (or had to be) a REPAINT are the ones that annoyed me. Remember, they also told Thomas Edison that he was crazy.....But nobody recalls just who "they" were....
Regards to the
e Pinkster....

Route 1 is three miles north of my house so I pick it up there and then drive the (sometimes scenic) 64 miles North East to the shopping center.

Mapquest.com from 19018 to Edison, NJ, shortest route.

Also, we have breakfast Cruises there at the Old Country Buffet and will be there September 15, 2007 from 9:00 am to noon.

PINKIN/SANDY reunion September 15, 2007 Edison, NJ

PINKIN/SANDY reunion September 15, 2007 Edison, NJ

It had to happen!

PINKIN will definately be attending the September 15, 2007 Edison, NJ Breakfast Cruise. Hopefully Sandy (CigarSandy) Block, the original owner of PINKIN, will be in attendance! Sandy has not seen PINKIN since selling the vehicle in May of 1991 with an odometer reading of 5,700 miles. 16 years later, PINKIN's odometer just passed the 20,000 mile mark in August of 2007.

The Club normally meets outside from 8:30 am to 9:00 am or 9:30 am. We then go inside and sit together for an all you can eat breakfast buffet.

Hope you too can make it!
