Sort of, not a weekend, actually day trip through Amish Country, Ohio.
We rented a "cabin in the woods" for two nights so we could travel with Roscoe, our 4 year old Golden Doodle. The cabin was fairly remote and the 5 acre property allowed Roscoe to be off-leash but remain in sight.
He loves 'going for a ride' as he doesn't get to go on our trips as much as he probably should. So I tried to accommodate him on this one. We even found a pet-friendly dining establishment for a nice steak and beer dinner on an outdoor patio.
His bed takes up half the back of the Navigator with all the seats folded down and I have discovered he's terrified of drive through car washes.
Winter Storm Fern turned out to be different than forecasted.
Instead of 12"+ of snow, we got like 3-4" of wet snow, a very solid layer of ice, followed by 1-2" of fluffy snow. Temperatures are forecasted to be in the single digits to low teens for a week, maybe more, so it won't be melting anytime soon.
