Quickest Lincolns of Distinction - DISCUSSION

Hope to be added to Supercharged list

Hope to be added to Supercharged list

Hi, this is the time slip from my run on 3-20-11 against a silver Challenger SRT 8. I was hoping to be added to the supercharged list. Here also is a video of the same run http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ihcoFG27X-Y The MPH 's are low because if you notice the converter locks up to soon and it dropped out of the power band at the end. My fastest MPH has been 111 MPH but with the same ET. Launched at to high a rpm and spun a little but half way down I turned off the OD and then turned it back on at red line at the end. Should be able to run faster if I get eveything right in one run.

Don, If I read you comments correctly, I highly recommend you race your car with traction control and overdrive turned off for the entire run. Your overdrive will last a lot longer if you turn it off. :) Nice run BTW :)

Hi Mike, Thanks, I do turn the traction control off. And thanks to Our last discussion last Sunday I tried turning off the OD. I found it runs best to leave the OD on till half way down the track then turn it of until it red lines right at the end. It was 5 to 6 MPH faster and .1 faster ET. Didn't have anyone taking videos this time though. Thanks again.

Hot and humid this evening @ Atco, the DA was 1464 ft.

But, this should be good enough for 5th place! :D

Corrected for DA would be ~13.6's, with mineshaft air I might even be able to see 13.5's.

Time slip HERE

Great video! I am impressed, especially with the heat, humidity, and altitude. That would've been a 13.7 at the track I go to, and more than likely a 13.5-13.6 without the heat and humidity. I see an NA beast coming alive! :D

DLF/Doug Fraleigh/98 Mark VIII LSC/13.590 @ 102.36

:D:):D:):D:):D:):D:):D

The DA @ Atco tonight was 1059 ft. According to Drag Times that corrects to 13.444 @ 103.478!

1.941......sweet.

You should wait for the light to be green :)

You have your tune dialed in nice!

What was going on in the other lane?
Funny no doubt.

If you wait for the green, then you'll be really late. ;)

Besides, I wanted to get away from the turbo'd Honda before it puked all over the track.... :p

Thanks!

I gotta give you credit... you've taken a Gen2 where no one else has.

So... what's next on the mod list?

Thanks, that was my intent! :D

I believe that there's still room in the tune for a little more improvement, and I want to see what the car will run in really good air before I do much more. Maybe a J-Mod just to help the transmission a bit.

Then.....

Cobra intake cams, U/D Pulleys, and possibly a custom cold air intake setup along with the Pro-M 83mm MAF I'll be taking off of my Cobra soon.

And maybe, someday, I'll install my spare T-56.

CobrastarLSC with the Gen 2 over on the other forum ran a 13.6, similar mods. Believe it!:p Just don't believe that a timeslip like that will be coming out of my car anytime soon.:D

Doug, I am thoroughly impressed!! This is when the little ****, like the delrin bushings, shock mounts, and every little maintenance item is very important for you. Your car is in its prime and you sir, have done very well.

I nominate DLF for July car of the month. :D
