Rear air springs deflate when car is moving.

I just recently purchased a 1998 Mark Viii with 145,000 miles. When I was driving it home the rear bags deflated. I pulled over to the side of the road, turned off the car, restarted it and the rear leveled itself back up. Drove it home and the rear was still leveled, and stayed leveled through out the night. Drove it again the next day for about 3 miles and the rear went down again. Got home turned the car off and on again and the rear went back up. Turn of the air suspension switch and drove the car again for a few miles and the back went down again. Got home turned off the car, turn on the air suspension, restart the car and the rear goes up again. Anybody else had this issue before or have any idea where to start checking? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The rear airsprings are leaking, common problem. Luckily the rears are available aftermarket and easy enough to replace.

or possibly the solenoid is sticking. Regardless, if the rear bags are original they are leaky and need to be replaced.

I finally got to change the air springs and looks like that took care of the problem. Thank you all for the help. I greatly appreciate it.
Nice! (y)

Glad to hear you were able to fix the problem and keep the air ride.
