Ah thanks for the correction. There were a couple of them there. I didnt see how much they went for but im sure it was a pretty penny.

Nice photos! My dad had a 59 Imperial in the sixties, it had the 413 engine, he loved that car and so do I. Jay leno has a beautiful 58, the last year for the 392 Hemi.

Thanks Team,
I couldnt believe how much some of these cars sent for. but this is the season for sure. I got two offers for my Excursion before I got out of the parking lot.
This late 50s Chevy went for almost a quarter million!

I wanted to take this photo with a different "finger" but my Wife said no...

Well Team, its been a while but she is finally back in one piece!

I had alot of back and forth with the Garage she was in and about a 3 month delay on the trans. But now they are all back together and sounding great!!!

THere is a crap ton of glithces though. The machanic said he couldnt get the car started without putting in a stereo, (Interior still not done). He seems to think its a security issue with the wiring, anywho he put in a cheapy radio and it fires right up. There is clealy a wire issue though cause the lights will only go off and on with the car.

3 months for a transmission?! That's got to be a record.

As far as having a hard time adding photos, that may have something to do with your paid membership status? You can link to pics hosted elsewhere but not directly post pics as attachments.

The radio has nothing to do with the car starting. Was there a problem with the original radio?

Thanks for the info Bill. All the machanic mentioned is that after he completed the engin install that it wouldnt start. The car is still sitting there now im afraid, its a shame. I dont want to take it till they can get it fixed but this is clearly out of there range.

Hello All,

Sorry for the long gap. The garage that I have been using is not puting any effort into finishing up the job. Still got the same electircal issue, (lights dont go off when cars on). Radio isnt working. Need new ball joints and tires, and I still need the rear window seal. All that said, I have to come clean and say I have sold out...I got a Beemer. Im still keeping my Mark VIII, just giving it to my youngest who will graduate next year.

Dont hate me, lol

I JUST CANT QUIT YOU!

So I got my car back, and I cant be happier! The garage I had it at did the best they could, and that was good enough. The outside and inside were/are ROUGH! That asided its a 98Mark VIII with a completly rebuild engine and trans. I can take care of the cosmetic stuff. Although the plan was to give it to my 17 year old when he graduates, nah...Daddys keepin this one.

That said, I need the teams help again. Any tips on where to throw money at for the remaining restoration? Id like to find links on this site to work with but im sure there is more out there. I need to redo the seats. Whats the position on air ride vs. coil? I am hooked on the old limbo commercial so I may go back to bags.
