SCT vs. Sniper Tuning vs. TwEECer

Hello all. I'm wondering if anyone has used any of these products on their Mark VIII's and how well people like these products, and how they perform. I'm going to be needing a chip real soon, and I haven't really found much information on people using these products. I don't want a mail order chip, i want something i can tune myself on my laptop or desktop. So either the SCT Pro Racer, or the Sniper Tuning Special Forces, or more preferably the Delta Force. Then there's the TwEECer RT, which is a fully user adjustable tuning kit as well. Here's the website links if anyone would like to do any research for themselves.
SCT's Pro Racer: http://www.sctflash.com/product_racer.php
Sniper Tuning's Special Forces: http://snipertuning.com/new/product.phtml?p=21
Sniper Tuning's Delta Force: http://snipertuning.com/new/product.phtml?p=9
TwEECer's RT: http://www.tweecer.com/tweecer_rt.htm

I'm just looking for a little feedback on what some people have experienced with these products, and what people think of them, and what you would prefer. Thanks for the info, and hopefully this thread helps alot more people out than me.

I've researched all the same and then some. You do have better choices with the OBD-II.

Right now if I were to buy it would be SCT software. I wanted more in that I wanted real-time data logging of all the EEC-IV parameters.

One caveat about self tuning... it's like self medication.

Don't make a mistake.

Another vote for SCT ProRacer Software!

It has a pretty steep learning curve, but after you "get over the hump" it's pretty user friendly.

At first it's very intimidating, but with alot of help from the "other proracers" on the SCT forums, you can get steered in the correct direction quite easily.
There are a few SCT dealers that lurk in the pro racer forum and most are very quick to lend a helping hand...
There are also a few SCT dealers who will sell you a calibration file for your PRP Package, which speeds up the learning process quite a bit.

PRP isn't cheap, I'm quite sure there are cheaper alternatives, but when it comes to tuning these cars with the very expensive components {engine, trans} I dont believe that "Cheaper is the best alternative".

All the stuff needed to tune my EEC IV car
(PRP software, chip, and chip burner} cost right at 900.00
But the ability to tweak your own tunes... PRICELESS!!!

If you decide on the SCT software, then you can choose from a couple of well known and trusted vendors...

1. lonne at blue oval chips www.blueovalchips.com
2. torrie mcphail at fast parts network www.fastpartsnetwork.com

On a side note..
As good as the tweecer stuff appears, there currently isn't any support for the Mark 8, I checked on this before I bit the bullet and got the SCT stuff.

One thing that is really required.. is "support".. and tweecer just doenst have it currently for our platform.

Well thanks alot. I'll probably go with the SCT then. But for now, i'll probably just buy the X-Cal 2 to start from there. But i'm just needing to know if i just get the X-cal 2 if i can fix the slow 1-2 shift on the 97-98 models since it drops line pressure and cuts the spark during 1-2 shift. I really wanna get rid of that it really pisses me off. Lol, thanks.
