Silly SHO

I was on my way back from calc class today. Just kind of babying the car along. Not in that good of a mood with a test tomorrow. But the good news is its going to be a pretty simple test.

This is a 4 lane road, 2 lanes in each direction. Pull up at the light and about 1/8 to 1/4 mile up, probablly closer to the 1/8 mile than the 1/4 the right lane is closed for construction. But theres no one working there. Thats about the way it is for all state construction zones. Well at this red light some young cocky kid in a SHO with his windows down (90 degree day, what happened to A/C!? ) and music blaring looks over at me with this cocky smirk on his face like he's going to get ahead of me. Nope, not going to let this happen. I disengage T/C look over and wink at the guy. I think I scared him. Got that intimidation role down good now. :p

The light turns green and with a moderate chirp of the tires I'm off. The guy next to me is leaning forward giving that poor 6 cylinder all it can take. Shift from 1st into 2nd and the kids front bumber is about even with my rear wheels. Take the 1-2 shift and jump out to about a 1/2 car length lead. Seeing that there isn't enough room for the crazy kid to jump in front of me anymore I let off around 45 mph and he comes flying up along side of me, gives me the your number one sign and then ducks in behind me riding my bumper. But since I was in a Lincoln I acted like an old person and drove 5 under the speed limit the whole way through the construction site untill I got to the interstate where her kept going straight.

1 more kill for the Lincoln and 1 more dissapointed kid. :)

RE: Silly SHO

I love when people give me the finger after I show them what their running against. It's just a pure sign of the burning sensation that they are feeling inside. :)

hehe. I lined up against a ricer last week (mitsubishi, big wing, ground effects, graphics, two asian kids with spiked hair). It was at a light, with a merge a couple hundred yards up. I revved. He gave me the finger. When we went, well, i sure hope he wasn't trying to race. I left at about half throttle, he took it slow and turned next chance he got. It's even more funny when they're too pussy to race. :)

RE: Silly SHO

If the kid knew how to drive a 5spd SHO would have given you a good run for your money :)

I've had quite a few of them over the years.. Great cars :)

RE: Silly SHO

theres a kid in my town that has one and has 205 hp to the wheels. His dad owns one of the local performace shops and man can that car move! He always kills me off the line, but I can still get him on the highway.
