Just got in from the track. :)

See everyone bright and early in the morning!(Most of you anyways) :D

The track was a lot of fun... DTSax was about a second quicker then I thought... I'm in the consistent 15.9 category... JP made me take the cooler and the sledge hammer and the ax out of the trunk... even the sax... although the sax is seat belted into the back seat like a small child that I would love more then an actual small child... :D

Getting up in the morning is going to suck... JP and Mike seem to be psyched about getting up early... so therefor they suck :D

Sharon is in my hotel room, and dead sexy :D :D :D

The pawn shop said you could pickup the Sax when they open on Monday. :D

You were awesome last night, Joe! Sorry that all these hard core racers went to bed early, I was ready to party. In fact, I got maybe an hour sleep, so I should be all wired up today :)

Yep, We are having fun here... :) I tried to stall the torque converter at 2000 rpm on the line, and it shook the tires during launch, then snapped the belt. So, I did not get a clean run all night, and the best was a 12.3 at 118. We went looking for some parking lot parties around midnight, but everyone was in bed already :( Hope everyone has a great day today!

I wish I could have made it down there.

Have fun everyone!:)

I don't know if I would share that with the world or not, but to each their own.... ;)

Hope I'll be there next year, and to compete with y'all!

Had a great time hanging out with all LOD folks.

Great group of folks who are great reps of these cars......(even caddysax) :)

Trixie even let me drive her mark and i gotta admit it was NICE just reinforced the fact that I gotta get me one of these darn things!!

Hope to see everyone again next year

We have the big drive first. We managed to leave before 1pm! LOL

Hope everyone had a great time. lol This event is like Christmas for me, and I look very much forward to it every year. Those that have never been to the shootout, have no clue what they are missing out on - it is that good! Thanks to all the volunteers, and sponsors that worked so hard to put this gig on every year! :)

Congratulations to all the winners, and my condolences to all the wounded warriors. 364 days to the next shootout, so you better hurry and get your junk fixed! :)

Here is a link to some pictures from the track photographer. See you all next year for SSHS10!

Just uploaded all my SSHS9 pictures. Sorry, but no vids this year, and the pics are a span across Friday T&T and Saturday SSHS9.

Great pics Mike! :D

I really like the shots of the Blue Flame from the track photographer too. :)

I'll try to get what pics I have up tomorrow or one day this week.

Thanks so much Mike! I had a blast, wish we would have been able to spend more time there. The people were great, the track was great, the awards were fun (even though there didn't appear to be an award for sexiest driver), and the after-parties were fun. Thanks for the ride back to the hotel too.

As for the pics, I'll have to figure out what to order. The racing stripes do tend to make the car look almost as dirty as she was, plus...you got a shot of someone other than me running my car against my wishes! ;)

Really, really, really tired. Glad we got to do this and hope to do it again next year.

I thought there is/was/used to be a 4000 minimum weight requirement, no?

1)I saw some Chevy S-10 pickups in the photos
2)I saw Trixie's high-dollar racing stripes
3)I know they have some *other* exhibition cars
4)I have yet to see any time slips! Half of the drag racing is WHAT ET the cars run.

JP?
Mike posted his 12.3x pass and MPH
Sharon?
anyone?

as an avid drag racer, I look forward to seeing what ET's the cars ran, and the consistency.

JP...help a brother out here man!

I actually made it the farthest, I got the the 4th round before I was beaten. So I got myself a t-shirt which says "Girls drive better than boys" :)

I was NOT consistent. My first run at T&T was my best run, best traction. After that I had some traction issues, including my 1-2 shift. Remember, it's been years since I've raced and also was totally unprepared due to our late arrival. My best RT was .005 (that was against JP who redlighted, and got to see my neon flash on the pit road back, hee hee).

First (and best) run:

RT: 0.069
60': 2.287
330: 6.413
1/8: 9.721
MPH: 75.70
1000: 12.574
1/4: 14.997
MPH: 93.35

Now remember, I had to fill my gas tank and add a couple "extras" to the trunk to make weight. That run I had perfect traction.

I made a total of 8 runs, can't remember when Sax and JP decided racing stripes were the way to go, but I sure did get attention. ;)

So the guy who beat me in Round 4 won our class, and he also beat Sax (where there was some comment about the new Caddy RWD from the tower, which was pretty funny). Anyway, he had his work truck with a dial in of 16.01. Against me he ran a 16.04, his next round he ran a 16.03, IIRC his R/T's weren't great, but hard to beat that. Especially since my times tended to be 15.1's, although had I not let off in the 1st round I probably would have broken out (15.172 @88.92 mph - rt .092), but some bad traction runs put me at 15.2 and even a 15.3 on my last run. I dialed in mostly 15.10, but my 2nd round I dialed a 15.05 and ran a 15.186 w/ rt of .150.

lol Craig, I guess you are going to have to go to SSHS10 to see what everyone runs.

The s10 was part of the race all day/T&T portion of the event - not the shootout. He did run out of turn though during the shootout elimination rounds while I was working the scales. I made him cross the scales anyway, and yes, he was light.
