Still Here

Hello everyone. I don't check in very often or actually any social media. My father in law has been ill since the beginning of the year. In and out of the hospital and rehab. My wife and I have become his caregivers which is a full time job and very difficult at times. Our lives have changed dramatically and have little time for us. We sold our house and moved in with him and do everything for him since he is unable to care for himself. If anyone has been through this you know how demanding it is. Anyway I'm still around hoping things will change for the better. I am glad we are able to help him but would enjoy some free time.

Hang in there. Are there home health nurses to assist?

I have to stay close by to my parents, they occasionally need my help if one falls. I was headed out of town, Thursday, for a doctor's appointment and got a call to turn around and come pick my mother up off the floor.

We do have home health which helps. Before we moved in with him I would get a call from him saying he had fallen out of bed and couldn't get up. Usually at 2am. I would drive to his house and I would call 911 to pick him up off the floor. I tried one time to pick him up but it was 250lbs of dead weight. I have a bad back and I knew not to try that again.

Hey Norm. It's good to hear from you.

I'm dealing with a bit of this myself these days, so I can definitely sympathize. All I can really say is to hang in there. At least you know you're where you need to be..

Thank you for the encouraging words. I hope things are ok for you. It can be difficult at times as you know.

I hope that you have all the courage that you need during this time. Praying for the speedy recovery of your father-in-law.
