trim around door

That part isn't just trim, it's the channel for the window. It's not available new anywhere for any price, so your only option is finding one on a parts car that isn't bubbling. Since it's got a rubber coating on it, it's unlikely it can be repaired properly.

Jesse, only one of those links even discusses this piece and no one mentions sanding and painting it. In fact I've never heard of anyone doing it at all.

jesse you arent thinking of the same piece. its the 5/8 wide rubber coated trim that starts at the rear view mirror on the door and follows the whole top edge of the door glass all the way back down to the window lock knob on the outside of the door. they usually start bubbling at the back top corner of the window where the trim had a 45 degree mitre in it, thats where is corrodes under the coating.

I was talking about that piece Jamie. Trixie was talking about doing it because the rubber bubbles up.

As far as the link goes....I was merely providing a link for him to start from. That trim piece has been called several things. If you'd like that I spend two hours of my time linking every damn thing then you're crazy. I'm not here to babysit but I try to help people where I can. It's very easy for the OP (and anyone else) to change the little words at the top of the page in that little box so he can search different things. Not to mention when I would type window trim every link was the back window.
