Has anybody ran into this? nut came right off. Can not get bolt out. Put nut back on to protect threads and hammered it no results. Sprayed with oil hammered again. Any help appreciated. Thank you

I've currently got that problem on my red winter car. The problem is the bolt rusts to the metal sleeve inside the rubber mount and on mine the rubber is disconnected from the lower control arm so the bolt just spins when you turn it. when I hit it with a hammer the rubber just absorbs the hit and doesn't break loose. I'm going to take it to a friends house, he has a strong impact hammer that might get it, if not I'll have to cut the bolt off on each side of the bushing, then replace the lower control arm as well.

I've used something like this...

with the punch tool on the end of the bolt and the nut part ways on to keep the hammer point on the bolt.

Like Bill said, if that doesn't work it's time to replace the control arm. :(

Thank you both very much! Took some time! But it worked! The bolt looks kinda haggered. Can i replace it with a say grade 8 bolt? Or does this need to be O.E.M??? Thank You both again for all your help.

Should i go back with original air bag? Or convert to coil over shock? Your answer would be much appreciated! thank You!

I wouldn't have any problem using even a Grade 5 bolt, certainly no reason I'm aware of that it needs to be OEM. I would opt for a fine thread and maybe consider antisieze on the bolt shank and blue loctite on the nut.

As for the air bag, if there was no fault with the bag, personally I would certainly prefer it over spring coil overs. ;)

Thank you for getting back with me. Appreciate another opinion. Gonna try the drivers side next!🤞🙏

You got luckier than I did, even the air hammer wouldn't free my bolt. It looks like I have to use the sawsall and replace the lower control arm.

Sorry to hear that. Wish they would have applied a little anti seize at the factory! thanks for your help!

Yes, I always put anti seize on every bolt I touch on the Mark VIII, this is what I ended up having to do.Airspring and control arm (Large).JPG

I ended up cutting the bolt and pressing it out with a 12 ton press. Lower control arm saved for a spare.
