I believe the Neon would be more reliable too, or at least cheaper to fix.

From what i've heard, those subaru boxer motors don't like sustained high lateral g's. That or the people that i've talked to about them just beat the snot out of their cars.

It's a sad day when we see we're talking about the pro's and con's of Neon vs. Cavalier...

Now, if I was a Dodge boy, there'd be something to talk about. These guys are dumpin' their front wheel line up for some more serious Hemi rear wheel drive fun. Even in a Wagon! The 300, Magnum and Charger are getting some attention and for good reason.

Mind you, the interiors are pretty Mickey Mouse, (at least the Magnum I looked at was disappointing inside to say the least). But the drive line is impressive. Sure the new Charger is a 4 door, but I give full Chryco full marks for uppin' the ante' on performance. GM... not a contender unless you're talking 500HP-Z06....

For an estimated about twice the money and with 50 more HP it should.
The proposed Shelby Mustang Cobra will be more comparable to the C6 Z06

I was thinking you guys meant the mustang gt. now I know what car you're talking about. and seriouslly I hate the way the gt looks... give me a vette anyday of the week over that ugly car.

How about the Shelby Cobra? No Mustang...just Cobra. They made a 2005 prototype. 600 HP. Looks like the original with the big "mouth" in front. Would probably waste all the cars in this thread.

Had me worried, Joe; thought he was going to hit the 69 with the shovel!
I've got a 69 fastback (sportsroof) just like it, same color, but different wheels.

As for the Z06 & Ford GT, the Z06 isn't ugly to me, but it isn't near as sweet looking as the GT. I'd take the GT over ANY vette, based on appearance.

I was pretty excited to see the Ford GT40 up close too. Retro but modern. Vette's will probably always rule, and for good reason. How long have they been building them now? 45 Years or so? The GT40's how old? Geez it's great to see someone actually try to do something new that is performance driven, and it's North American for a change...

I am so tired of posts like this on every car forum in the USA.
The only thing I hate more than normal bench racers are people that bench race cars that are not even being produced.
