Over the weekend I finally got around to installing the LMS icebox and capping off that air intake resonator thing. I was certainly shocked at the track when I learned I had gained 3 full tenths just from $52 worth of parts. 14.2@95mph w/ a 60' of 2.11, all are new personal bests and that was with plenty of tire hop. The gain was as much as I'd gotten from the $600 rear end w/ 3.73s or the $800 torque convertor.
So it seems to me if anyone has missed these little things go do them now and hopefully get the same results.
Looking over that intake resonator I can't imagine what its purpose was other than needlessly heat air going into the engine and therefore rob horsepower. $2 for a rubber PVC pipe cap at Home Depot took care of it quite nicely.
