Guys, Need help Quick

RE: Guys, Need help Quick

if you use cruise control, does it go off the second you tap the brakes? Are you able to shift out of park? If the answer to both of those is yes, then the switch on the brake pedal is fine. I wonder if a fuse that powers the lights back there went out, or if a wire shorted.

Thats wierd, that you're not getting parking OR brake lights.

Dave: The answer to your questions were no.

Went to the dealership, they told me it was a short in the neon light ballast, and that it needs to be changed, and the break lights wont work without the new ballast ($996) (B.S) told him that I knew these cars more then most of the mechanics there, and yeah, used the Central Florida Chapter "president" title, and told him about our club, and he changed his tone, (and price he was going to charge for the diagnostic) hahaha, best tool I ever used.

Turns out Fuse #32 keeps blowing anytime the Neon light is connected. So I disconnected it and replaced the fuse, and the car will shift out of park now, and I have break lights once again, BUTTTTTT no parking lights anymore both in the front and rear!!

My HID's and hazards/signals all work just fine... the only problem I have left are the parking lights.

Any suggestions??? (cant drive the car at night now!!)

Also, whats causing the Neon to do this out of nowhere?
Thanks guys.

RE: Guys, Need help Quick

If the neon is doing this out of nowhere, it's probably a bad ballast. If you have no parking lights now, i'd say fuse 32 might not be the only one blown. That, or perhaps all the bulbs got a power surge somehow and burnt out.

RE: Guys, Need help Quick

I just checked all the fuses, both interior, and exterior, they seem just fine.

Do you think the parking lights will go out alone, and still have break lights and signals working? The message center isn’t giving me any errors or anything.. So I dunno.

What do you guys think?

So does anyone know the part number for this ballast? Thanks in advance.

The inverter Glitch sells is new, it's just not an original. I've been using one of his with no problems for several years.

Ok so I finally got the inverter and installed it and hooked everything back up, now the car will shift out of park just fine but the rear tail light is still out. Any suggestions? By the way Glitch is awesome. After the person at the post office basically admitted to someone there stealing the inverter Glitch replaced free of charge.

Well...if its still NOT blowing fuses, than you may have a bad neon. Talk to Glitch, I believe he can test this.
