From Detroit, MI to MA, who is along the way?

If you take 80 over to Scranton Pa and then pick up I-84 you do not go thru NYC. Your Northern route if far longer of a drive. I grew up outside Hartford CT and moved to Cleveland a long time ago, but would go back to CT for business and family many times, and I-80 to I-84 is the way to go. Do yourself one other favor no matter which route you take and check with AAA to see if you have any major Construction on your route. It's Blue Barrel season again.

I'd advise you to skip 280 through Toledo. They are building a new bridge across the Maumee and it's all construction there.

Just stay on I 75 until you reach I 80. it's not much farther but it's a lot faster and cleaner.:)

There are supposed to open it up next month, about the 25th. About time. The zig zag under the bridge had it's moments for me.

Hey thanks for the tips guys. I just upgraded my AAA to the 100 mile towing just in case but I'll have them check on the construction too.

There is a ton of back up on the 294 so watch out for that. Also, there's some dumbass on a moped driving around in circles on the 923.

when you look at the map when you get into Mass im right on the CT, NY, Mass boarder and only 1 1/2 half away from RT90 ill PM you with my #'s give me a call and Ill do my best to help PS. I work 2nd shift so if you do this on a week day or SOL

I just sent out a few e-mails to people on the frappr map that look to be along the way. Just figured I've give a heads up.

That is the plan as of now. We will cross most of Ohio on the evening of the 6th grab a hotel, then leave early the next morning for the rest of the trip.

Yea we are, although I will drive most of the time, they are there for the ride mostly. Both are friends that are also mark viii nuts. I've been given the suggestion not to drive through PA at night becuase of the huge amount of deer. We have deer up my way too but a friend that has driven out to MI before couldn't believe the amount he saw and nearly hit. So I figure why not get some sleep in a bed, it's cheap enough. Anyway, it should be fun.

Got ya. I'd suggest a stay at Sharon Pa. which is just over the OH border. There is a neat eats place there also, here is menu connection .http://www.lubewings.com/pdf/sharon_menu.pdf
It's called Steak & Lube
There are plenty of hotels around as well and they are only a couple miles into town from I-80.

You want to leave early as the worst part of the trip in my mind is going thru Hartford Ct, actually starting around Waterbury during rush hour all the way until you pass Manchester there is lots of traffic.

Yeah Danbury, Waterbury and Hartford are going to be the 3 busiest spots for traffic in the morning and at night until about 7-8 then it clears up.

Yea, I expect a bunch of traffic out in CT. We will probably leave at 5am or so in hopes to hit CT before the afternoon rush.

Hey that steak and lube menu looks great!!!
