I put a new front end on the mark replaced every thing wow feels like a new car.

I didn't go with Ford parts I ended up going with Moog but its s 220,000 miles car so its got a limited life now anyway.

I wish i would have done it 3 years ago when i bought the car (would have saved a ton in tires)

If you want the next level of improvement, get some front subframe braces. ;)

More worried about the engine atm Took it in for emmisions testing and they ran it on the dyno first with the front wheels on the dyno

then with the TC untill it was spewing steam out of the hood

then the monkeys pushed it by the truck lid leaving hand prints and scratches allover it

now the engine seems to have a slight miss to it and will die at idle

Not happy

Im also thinking about doing some front end work. Did you do the work your self? If so what kind of a job was it? And how much did it cost for the parts? Thanks

i looked at doing it myself but it was really more than i wanted to tackle with all of my tools 10hrs away it was 626 for parts and 518 for labor took them about a week to do

In regards to doing the job yourself it boils down to having the right tools for the job. Impact guns and air chisel with a punch head bit really assist in getting those rusty bolts out (along with plenty of Deep Creep). It is not that hard of a job and has been written up in several places on the how to. Make sure you have all the socket sizes before you start. The strut rod bushings will require some big muscles/and or cheater bar. Having a friend always helps, but I did one of my cars all alone and took my time over a week end. If you stay with it you can do it in a day. First side is always the slowest due to learning. I have all the parts lined up ready to do my second car, but this time I am going to a small shop nearby and supervise as my arthritis in the hands is kicking in, but otherwise I'd be doing it again on my own. Be sure you mark the camber bolt position so that you get the front end close on alignment, and then get your car down for a complete 4 wheel alignment when you are done. I made a scribe mark on the bolt, and the front end came in at less than 1 degree out. (I was offered a job at the front end shop for that one)LOL

Ive had the entire front off of the car a few times for new bags and putting in poly bushings

I had to have it towed because of the ball joint breaking (i know should have changed them when i did the poly) and sine my show and tools were 10 hours away i just had the shop do it

Moog Front End?

Moog Front End?

Could you post a website and/or parts numbers for the new Moog front end pieces?

Another source you may want to look at is Advance Auto. I used them this last time (6 weeks) I bought a complete front end packadge. TRW upper and lower control arms and links with Moog strut rod bushings. Advance also actually had the Mark Vlll control arms priced better than the T-Bird arms, which was a real break from tradition.

TRW or MOOG, same stuff. DOnt go paying more for MOOG becasue there is a REALLY good chance it will come in a TRW box or in a MOOG box bit the part inside is stamped TRW.

I did my front end just a while ago. Advance does have REALLY good prices. Once you factor in shipping and the discount from Rock you dont save a whole lot really.
