02 LS Upgrades

Hi! I'm new to this group, though this is not the first Lincoln I've owned. I have some questions about some upgrades I would like to do to my LS. Hoping you guys can help me.

What kinds of brake swaps can be done from other Ford-made cars?

Where can I get the chrome inserts for the front and rear bumpers. (non-dealer)

Are there any dash kits besides wood? like carbon fiber or brushed aluminum.

Can i change out my shifter knob? i have the "manual" and automatic transmission.

the brakes on the ls are awesome why would you want to change them...if anything go to lskoncepts.com and buy a slotted rotors and put the ebc green pads and do the braided brake hoses..i think that will give you what your looking for. as far as the other stuff your looking for try ebay. ive seen dash kits there before.
 
i don't do ebay - as for the brakes - what i'm looking for is a caliper that is embossed with some kind of "ford" related text - i saw a Mark VIII or something with Cobra Calipers - thought that was cool. My brakes are awesome - slotted rotors are a given...
 
ha ha - it IS a Ford - let's be realistic here. but no, I don't want the Ford logo all over it - just like i wouldn't want the Ford logo on my Mazda ;) but i swapped their parts...

is this a really hard question to answer? i've looked around the net and there aren't many aftermarket parts for the LS...
 
The LS isn't "made" by Ford, although its sold by Ford, so its going to be hard to find stuff to swap into it. I know you can do a gear swap according to Rick using 8.8 parts. I don't think anyone on this forums has a LS thats fixed up to the extent that you want to fix yours.

You could always try Brembo or Wilwood for the brake calipers, that would be custom, wheels are easy, but beyond that point (headers/exhaust/etc.) you're gonna have to dig.
