Did you get the neo chrome stuff back yet, I'd love to see a pic of it. I will decide soon and paypal you the money.

Cool, I ordered a few pairs of o2's, what a great price that is! Jeremi, let me know on the neo chrome powdercoat.

Wrong. The rotten egg smell is the sign of a PROPERLY working "cat". If the cat has failed, you wouldn't smell anything but a strong hint of RAW fuel.

The reason he got the rotten egg smell is because the O2's were failing, causing the car to run rich, in turn overworking the cats causing them to burn off all that excess raw fuel....walla rotten eggs with a check engine light.

Destroyer......unless you get headers, you're NOT going to be able to remove the drivers side cat. You can bash the substrate out of the inside of it, but you risk pieces shooting up into the engine. I'd recommend removing the resonator and the 3rd cat and running true duals(NOT flowmasters!). This is what the drivers side exhaust manifold looks like......this is from my exhaust post. http://mark8.org/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=15018

Hmm, that is ridiculous!. Especially since I've heard headers dont do all that much to one of these motors (stock that is). I'll see what my muffler guy can do. Thanks.

You've heard wrong then.........

Headers help a ton, they even out the flow, they make the exhaust less restrictive, and best of all NO MORE CAT.

Bang for your buck....probably not very good, but the first thing I noticed was a MUCH MUCH freer reving engine.

Look at the runners on the stock manifold, you can't tell in that picture but look at this one and tell me that this THIN manifold flows good........

Bottom right of the box.

You can remove the substrate out of the cat like I said, but good luck wasting time trying to weld up a pipe on that manifold where it sits in the car. Heck....good luck getting the saws all up there to cut the old cat off!

Headers really come into their own with a more free flowing intake. :wink2-green

You have to think of a motor as an air pump. The better the air flows the better the performance! Headers wont do much if the intake is restricted. It can only pump out what it sucks in and it can only suck in what it pumps out.
