03-04 Cobra Radiator + Fan

Jon, here are the pics you asked for.

This is the 2003 cobra radiator and fan assy.
It's fits fine in the stock location. The fact that it is 1" shorter makes it possible to fit it under the core support, after tilting the a/c condenser forward. The fan assy allows more room for things like 4" vortech inlet. The fan is the same size as the original one, but with a higher pitch on the fins, so it pulls even more air. Little extra work is required when reusing the stock brackets, but nothing out of ordinary.

Radiator can be purchased for about $200, the fan is another $140. I'm sure the stock fan assy can be reused though. Extra space was my biggest concern, thus the cobra fan.

Drive one ... you'll see }( }( }(

This is one of the cheapest ways to make these cars move without having to refill bottles ...

RE: 03-04 Cobra Radiator + Fan

with what i've already spent on my boat this spring i could have supercharged my mark. But i think i made the right decision :)

RE: 03-04 Cobra Radiator + Fan

I am putting the s-trim on this summer, and i've got all the pics from when you were wiggling the radiator and shroud out of the way. Which do you recommend - late model rad+fan or just push and shove until the old stuff will fit with it? (great helpful pics btw)

RE: 03-04 Cobra Radiator + Fan

Get the 03 setup. The radiator is not only thicker than stock, but also all aluminum, with aluminum tanks, all welded. No epoxy and plastic crap. I hate cutting up cars, and this was a lot easier and looks better. You could prolly resue your fan, so @ $200 forthe radiator, it's a good deal.

If you're putting an s-trim on there, go to autozone and buy coolant hose "XL 101". It's a perfect fit with the vortech crossover, and no need to splice, like vortech tells you to. Best news, it's $9.99

Dave, if I told you how much I have in this car total, you'd be surprised.

But the boat ? If I could afford it and had place to store it, I'd buy one too.

98 Cobra setup, port matched ...etc. All this stuff is just to get me through the summer, when the original plan will resume ...

edit: good eyes ... you want it ?

RE: 03-04 Cobra Radiator + Fan

The 03 cobra rad and fan look great in there, looks like it fits really nice too. That would have definatly saved me the trouble of tryin to move that stock rad to clear the s/c inlet. It's done but was a huge pain in the ass.
Where did you get that upper rad hose from? do you have p/n for it?

Here's a couple pics of mine moved.

Justin,

autozone coolant hose XL 101 $9.99

If you need more room, shave 1/2-3/4" from the shroud assembly all around.

Did you get the pan tapped yet ? Man, this is supercharged heaven.

Are you coming to Carlisle ? So far it looks like we have 4 cars from MI. I tried calling you last week, but no luck. Get back to me ...

Is the cobra fan motor varible speed? I recall ours having a low and high setting, depending on engine load.

It's a little more complicated than that. There are several more speeds than just low and high. But yes, it works the same way the lincoln one did.
