03 Cobra Wheels

Lonnie

Blue Oval Chips
I had to swap my wheels out yesterday so I thought I'd post a pic. Rough day all together, bent one of the other rims and had no choice but to do the swap. Had the Cobra wheels sitting around for awhile now just procrastinating the swap. Anyways, I had to change to Mustang bolt pattern first and then come up with something for the rear brakes. Ended up installing the Cobra rear discs also. This was all a last minute type thing since I'm heading north for the holiday. All in all it turned out pretty good. I'll get a better pic when I get back. Its been raining all day here so I pulled it out in between the showers.

RE: 03 Cobra Wheels

RE: 03 Cobra Wheels

copy cat ;) ;) ;) j/k

How did you manage to use the cobra calipers in the rear ? Or did you relocate the stock ones over cobra rotors ?

I came up with my own brackets to move the Lincoln calipers for the larger rotors which worked out ok. I'm going to come up with something better when I get a chance.[/div]

Now tell the "rest of the story". LOL. :7 :+

RE: 03 Cobra Wheels

I don't think there's enough band width here. It's not over yet either, court may be in the future.

RE: 03 Cobra Wheels

If you do a search in the archives you will find what I went through with my hood. It is totally custom with parts from a stock hood and a poorly constructed aftermarket piece molded together.

RE: 03 Cobra Wheels

The company I got it from I wouldn't recommend. I don't remember exactly what I paid for it, over $800. I got the LOD discount on it when they were still a vendor here. I do remember that I paid an additional $75 for extra packing for it to be shipped to CA. When it arrived both the leading corners by the windshield were sticking out of the box and broke off. When the box was opened there wasn't a single piece of packing material in it but for a piece of cardboard. Basically it was shipped in a box with nothing to protect it. It was also cracked on both sides and there was still left over flashing from when it was removed from the mold and no clean up, sanding or anything done to it. It was in rough form, unfinished unlike what was advertised. Where the hinges were supposed to bolt on one side we were able to just pull it out and move it around about an inch. The shop that was going to install it was able to stick their fingers in between the upper and lower sheets of glass because there was no glass there and where there was it was cracked. They then wanted to see how strong it was (upper and lower skin glued or glassed together) so they pulled on the two halves and it separated with ease. Because of this I wasn't able to return it in the end since the owner refused to believe anything that poorly crafted came out of his shop and the shop damaged it even more by investigating the poor craftmanship. He just flat out denied it all. Look in the archives and see our post war then you can see what a jerk he was.

I ended up taking a new hood and the top of that one and putting them together. After all was said and done it was well into $2000 range for it all.

The company has since changed its name because of many other complaints. I don't know what they go by now but I do now of someone that got one of their hoods last year for his Tbird and it was worse than the one I got.

RE: 03 Cobra Wheels

ya ive heard of that company and have there number but now its disconnected. ive talked to another guy on here but dont remember his name. his hood seperated on him while he was driving 70 or 80 on the highway and took out his windshield and scratched up the roof and tail of the car. the hood guy sent his bodyshop another hood and said he would pay for all the damage but never did. thanks again for the advice and info. your car is one of a kind though and looks great.
