OK LOD people, it's one week til the big Chicago 2K3 meet. I know lots of you will be here, and I KNOW we are going to have a great time.

This post is for the rest of you who may be sitting on the fence...if you can at all make it out here for one day or all, try! It looks like the weather will be good, the company will be great, and the cars will be outstanding.

RE: 1 Week til Chicago Meet!!!!!!!!!!

Come on Mark, call in sick to the reunion... what's another 10 years????

RE: 1 Week til Chicago Meet!!!!!!!!!!

I had planned on meeting some LOD members. I found out I have to work overtime all weekend. Bummer.:'(
Have a blast.

RE: 1 Week til Chicago Meet!!!!!!!!!!

Mark,

Ask nice..maybe Trixie will promise to get loaded and pop her top!!

RE: 1 Week til Chicago Meet!!!!!!!!!!

I have it on good authority that they're scheduling our weekly hail storm on Saturday. The size of ripe pomegranates from what I hear. It's still not too late to reschedule for the 16th...

Ah hell, I'm just making it up, like you couldn't tell.
(Man am I gonna get it if it actually does)

Have fun everyone! :)

Come Hell or High Water...

Come Hell or High Water...

Ok, so we're in a hell or high water situation over here...

In the last two days, the Saxmobile's A/C system crapped out, immediately after the diagnosis from the A/C place, I blew a front bag. And we're not talking, "oh my bag has a little leak boo-hoo"... no were talking the rubber split open all the way around the bottom of the bag, violent release of air, nose slamming down onto the sidewalk kinda leak...

I've never seen a MK so low, I was dragging the splash guards on the pavement the front was so low.

Estimated parts cost for repair to A/C $250 - waiting for parts that should arrive approx. 10AM tomorrow. The A/C guys think it'll be about a 2hr job.

Parts cost for repair to front suspension $434 - waiting on both left and right front 98 bags that should arrive approx. 1PM tomorrow. Time of repair will depend solely on how stoned my mechanic is and if he shows up on time to begin with. No further cost for installation as he owes me for taking care of 'something' for him.

Not quite how I wanted to prepare for a trip to Chicago... :(

I've been doing some calculations...

What are the precise plans as far as time and place on Saturday? I couldn't find anything as far as where you all are meeting.

My reunion runs from 5PM until midnight Saturday. It's about a four hour drive if I include the hour or so to get through Chicago traffic. No one will disown me if I'm an hour or so late...

So...

I figure I could push it and stick around until 2PM or so. But after Friday night's festivities, will you guys even BE there before noon?

Of course I'll probably regret this, because knowing me I'll blow the whole reunion thing off and decide to stick around. So if I DO come to the meet, I need a solid oath from you guys that you won't try to talk me out of leaving! I'm absolutely serious! Then again, you may want me to leave anyway, so I guess that would work out too. ;-)

Mark, the picnic will be at Montrose Harbor. I'm hoping to get there between 11 and 11:30 to get the car unloaded, so we usually say Noon, but we've always had people there earlier. We go into what I believe is the first parking lot on the left side (North) and park pretty far at the end (North) whereever we find a good spot and lots of parking spaces. I know I'm going to have to not stay out too late Friday, either that or I'll just nap under a nice tree on Saturday. ;-)

Regarding the oath - sorry, can't help you there. I'd say I would, but by 2 I'll most likely be tipsy, so I can't guarantee anything. ;-)

Glad to hear that! See you at the meet!

Mark, I'd like to tell ya I'll be there early, but..... my record speaks for itself AND I'll probably be out late the night before. I'll be there though, its going to be fun! Any word about the T-Bird guys going too? Just curious.

Hey Trixie, be sure you leave Leo's towels at home on Friday night. We don't need them all messed up for the awards. (moan from the crowd)

Besides, I intend to win a couple. :) Did Leo send you any to sell outright? I've been too damned lazy to order 'em from him.

RE: Come Hell or High Water...

Sax - thank goodness! :)
Manuel - I won't say a word. ;-)
Fuz - what?
Mark - a) ewwwwwwwwwwww.
b) No, he didn't, but they are easy to order from his site. Or ask him if he's sent the LOD stuff to Steve yet, and maybe Steve could bring some.
