1960 Thunderbird with sequential turn signals

I have been mulling around the idea of putting in sequential turn signals on my 1960 Thunderbird. This car never came with sequentials, which was only introduced in 1965 on Thunderbird. I would need to replace the inner backup lens with plain red ones for this conversion.

WebElectric Products ( http://www.webelectricproducts.com/products.htm ) sells a sequential tail light kit that fits any car with three bulbs in each tail light. People with first gen Mark VIII's can use this kit.

What do you think of this conversion on the 1960 Thunderbird?

Here is a animated image I made of the proposed sequentials on my 1960 Thunderbird.

Personally I think it looks great. My '67 has the sequentials but I think it looks better on the '60 because the lights are individually covered instead of being clustered in one housing.

With obvious exclusion for vehicles of authentic show quality - I would do it. Looks kind of cool.

Wonder if you could sequence both sides to run when the brakes are applied - and then just hold the brake light. Hmmmmm.

Don't do it. It's not original! Yes, it looks nifty ~ but so what? Adding color to the Mona Lisa is a good idea, too. Back to the Golde Top.
(Whitewalls look nice....but - should I add them to the ascMcLaren?????) Same difference.

According to this article on Automotive Mileposts : http://automotivemileposts.com/tbird1960backup.html , the 1960 Thunderbirds without backup lights my have had all red lenses. some might have been factory, but most likely they were put in by dealers for customers complaining about non-functioning backup lights on cars not so equipped. I personally have never seen or even heard of such a vehicle, a 1960 T-bird with three red lenses per side.

In any case the sequential module is an easily reversible change if I do it.

I wouldn't do the break lights, it seems kinda unsafe to me... people might pay attent to that instead of hitting the brakes.

On the turn signals, I think it would look awesome. I love that feature on my 66!
