Any current/former lincoln mechanics out there?
I've got a good one. Over the last few months, the spedometer on my Town Car has been working intermittently. "resetting" frequently, and often going blank completly. sometimes, turning on the headlights seems to help it stay on. the modules on either side.. (fuel, and information display) seem to be working fine at the moment, although I've had them cut out a time or two also in the past. never all three sections at the same time.
I had the dash apart last night and found what I thought might've been a bad ground. (black wire with a yellow boot, friction fit over a stud on the back of the instrument cluster) I ran a new wire from that to the chassis(a-pillar,) but it hasn't improved the situation at all.
I'd love any other thoughts folks might have. it's nice to know how fast one is going.
